As part of the week-long activity of the 8th Climate Change Consciousness Week, the CCC conducted the 4th Business Summit: Building Business Strategies for Low Carbon Economy last November 23 at the Luzon Ballroom of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Albay 2nd District Representative was invited as a resource speaker for the one-day event. He tackled the climate change initiatives in Albay. He also talked about the impacts of DRR and CCA in the economy.
Also present during the event were Senator Cynthia Villar, CCC Secretary de Guzman, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) President George Barcelo, Director Jesus T. Tamang of the Energy Policy and Planning Bureau of the Department of Energy (DOE) and former Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) secretary Jose Rene Almendras of the Ayala Corporation.
According to the CCC, the business summit aims to engage or encourage the private sector to explore and develop viable business models and strategies, as well as identify enabling policies that may catalyze investments for climate change adaptation and mitigation actions specifically for the energy, transport, and industry sectors.
The Albay 2nd district representative was also present during the Global Investment Forum 2016 at F1 Hotel Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. The event was hosted by the Philippine First Investment Corporation, a non- stock and non-profit corporation established primarily to be an investment adviser and facilitator to a diverse array of businesses which include real estate, profit sharing, joint ventures, and/or management services to state a few.
Salceda was awarded as Senior Global Champion in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation in 2010 by the United Nations. Recently, Salceda was featured in BizNews Asia’s December 2016 issue in the “PH’s best thinker and economic manager” article.
