27 LGUs trained in LCCAP formulation from Sept to Oct 2016
A total of 306 participants from 27 local government units (LGUs) from all over the country underwent Local Climate Change Action Plan (LCCAP) formulation training hosted by the Local Climate Change Adaptation for Development (LCCAD) from September 2016 to October 2016 at the Casablanca Convention Center, Legazpi City, Albay.
The LGUs trained were: Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte; Pandan, Catanduanes; San Fernando and Uson, Masbate last September 7-9; Abulug, Camalaniugan and Sanchez Mira from Cagayan; Makilala, Matalam, Midsayap and Pigcawayan from Cotabato; Dumalneg and Marcos from Ilocos Norte; Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat; Banga, South Cotabato; Carles, Iloilo; Dinalungan, Aurora; Jimenez, Misamis Occidental; Santiago, Agusan del Norte; Tubod, Surigao del Norte and Victoria, Oriental Mindoro last September 28-30; and Tuy, Batangas; Nunungan, Lanao del Norte; Uyugan and Sabtang, Batanes; Placer, Surigao del Norte and Jabonga, Agusan del Norte last October 19-21.
They were trained by LCCAD Executive Director Nong C. Rangasa who is also the resident trainer of the Climate Change Commission (CCC). The outputs of the LGUs were also submitted to Director Rangasa for evaluation.
During the three-day workshops, the participants were given kits and handouts regarding the training and the importance of the formulation of LCCAP. The participants were also shown short documentaries regarding the different disasters and climate change phenomena in the country.
The LCCAD partners for LCCAP formulation training workshop are the Climate Change Commission headed by Sec. Emmanuel de Guzman, City Government of Legazpi led by Mayor Noel E. Rosal, House of Representatives Special Committee on Climate Change, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region V and Ako Bicol Party list. (GANaz/LCCAD)
